Carly Rice
L.Ac, LMT, Certified Galactic Astrologer, Certified Shamanic Healing Practitioner
I am passionate about health and healing and have dedicated most of my life pursuing this passion! In 2004 I started studying Eastern Philosophy, Taoism and Buddhism. Inspired by the writings of Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, and Alan Watts, I knew I needed to continue studying Taoist philosophy. In 2013 I attended The Wellspring School for Healing Arts and studied Chinese Medicine, Tai Chi and acupressure bodywork called Amma Therapy. I practiced this form for many years, working in various acupuncture and chiropractic clinics. After witnessing the miracles of Chinese Medicine, I decided to incorporate acupuncture into my practice. In 2019 I studied with an 88th generation Master Acupuncturist of the Jade Purity Lineage, Jeffrey Yuen. I then moved to Boulder, Colorado and studied Classical Five Element Acupuncture at the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture directly from the lineage of J.R. Worsley. After 7 years of formal education in Chinese Medicine, I obtained my Masters degree in Acupuncture.
My path has led me to study Shamanic healing in a 6-year apprenticeship in the traditional Peruvian style of the Q’ero, and in 2014 I became a certified professional shamanic healing practitioner from Rising Fire school of Shamanism.
I also studied Mayan healing from Miss Beatrice’s lineage in Belize which includes Mayan abdominal massage, plant spirit medicine, plant limpias and ritual prayer baths. My many experiences have opened my eyes to the incredible potential in each of us, and the possibility of living in sacred, colorful and life affirming ways.
I have spent over 13 years studying traditional astrology with some of the best astrologers currently in practice, and I am certified in Galactic Astrology - Quantum Soul Guidance from Julia Balaz.
All of these modalities are offered seamlessly and interwoven into the fabric of who I am and what I am able to offer.
I enjoy being creative, working with fabric art, ceramics, spinning wool, painting, camping, and swimming in the ocean! I also love to travel and recently spent three months in Ireland practicing acupuncture. I am an adventurous spirit and lived off grid in a tipi in Taos, New Mexico with my wolf dog Nico for two years. Choosing to live in intentional simplicity, without internet or cell reception, my daily motto was “Chop wood, Carry water, Read a book, Explore nature.” This experience created a sense of resilience, confidence, connection with the world around me and inside of me, and freedom. I don’t take myself too seriously, I act with humility, I am a deep listener, and I hold a big picture perspective of life.
